If money was no object..

I just found out how much I make a year.

I mean.. I know how much I make per HOUR, but I never really wanted to do the calculation.

Too depressing, I thought.

But really?

Meh.

Could be worse.

Having to think about money sucks.

I want to go back to the days when we were hunter-gatherers. Remember how fun that was?

I am on salary, so I totally know how much I make. But, when you take out the $6000 a year I pay for health insurance, it doesn't look so good. You'd think my employer (who has 3000 employees) would pay for my insurance, but they just offer a group plan that we must pay for ourselves. For my family insurance, it's like $250 PER PAYCHECK!!!!! But, my boss won't give me a raise because I am technically the highest paid person in my department, before taxes and the fucking shitty HMO!

Since my husband owns his own business and I am his secretary , I know every red cent he makes .It is different for those who are self-employed because you have to keep up with everything because there is so much itemizing . I have to say that I am quiet happy with what my husband makes each year and tax time doesn't bother me a bit at the end of the year because even though we have to pay in , we already have the money to do it because we take a certain % out of each check he gets and put it in a savings account just for taxes . Just be proud that you are bringing in your own income instead of sitting at home on your toosh like alot of people your age ! Have a good weekend Damasta!

Working for a non-profit is very sad on the paycheck.

Or how about comparing your gross income to your net income? That's always a treat. It's like: "look how much you made BEFORE you paid off the politicians!"
I think the words "net" and "gross" should be reversed in this scenario.

You know you are worth more than your paycheck, so don't let it get you down.
If you are still enjoying what you do...don't worry about it!

miss kendra: I think I made more as a student with no income. I had a $25,000 limit on my credit card.

barefoot: Doesn't it?!? It wasn't that bad, though. I thought I made half than what I do.

spinning: I'd like to gather *your* berries.

jodes: If it weren't for my obsession with new clothes, I wouldn't *have* to live paycheck to paycheck.

think: I fucking hate health insurance. The only reason I got it in the first place was because of Paco, my psuedo-hernia. I thought I was going to die, or at the very least need surgery. My health insurance costs $100 a month and I don't even fucking use it. Gah.

breaze: I read in a magazine that most women my age are making atleast $36,000 a year. Let's just say that I'm not most women.

looking: You probably make less that me. LOL..

myutopia: I *always* work for profit.

mad: That's why I always claim atleast 2 on my payroll taxes. I get less back at the end of the year, but atleast I get more money now, when I actually need it.

phats: Abso-fucking-lutely. Where the hell is Seahag, by the way? I don't think her email addy works anymore. I want to tell her that I saw Bob Saget at the Improv last night.

logo: You're absolutely right. I *do* enjoy my job a great deal, and I think that alone is worth more than what they pay me.
